Introduction
Like Windows Media Player 10 , Windows Media Player 11 is an evolutionary WMP version that is accompanied by various products and services, but not new versions of Microsoft's Windows Media Audio (WMA) and Windows Media Video (WMV) codecs. Win32.Brontok.j is a worm that disables Windows Registry Editor and reboots the system if the user attempts to open the application. WGA atau Windows Genuine Advantage adalah salah satu cara Microsoft Corp. gunakan untuk menghalang dari penggunaan software mereka(contoh Microsoft Windows XP) yg pirate atau pun yang tidak sah. Cara cara WGA menyerang user user software pirate adalah dengan tidak membenarkan user user ini update windows mereka. Dengan itu, semua bug serta fixes tidak dapat diperbaiki dan user user ini ada terdedah pada banyak virus, exploit serta spyware(walaupun dengan update update tersebut windows XP tetap menjadi juara di dalam kategori software paling tak stable). Pada 25 april 2006 , Microsoft Corp. telah meningkatkan lagi serangan mereka terhadap software piracy dengan kaedah memasukkan satu software yg di beri nama windows validation tool yg mana software ini akan check serial number user tersebut. Jika didapati bahawa user tersebut menggunakan software yang pirate, ia akan menghantar data tersebut pada Microsoft dan ia juga akan mengubah startup screen dengan memasukkan satu imej text yg bertulis "your windows is not genuine , you may be a victim of software piracy" yg akan freeze startup screen tersebut selama 5 saat . ia juga akan meletakkan satu balloon popup di system tray yg mana akan popup mesej yg sama dari masa ke semasa.
